Tillie's Bed and Breakfast
Welcome to Tillie's Bed & Breakfast which is located in Doss, Texas on a historic ranch established in 1860. Only 30 minutes from Fredericksburg, Tillies has the good fortune of being located amidst an abundance of scenic and natural beauty as well as recreational and outdoor activities which include winery tours, cycling, hiking, golf, photographing nature and sightseeing.
A destination known for its charm, romance, uniqueness, shopping, peaches, wildflowers, historic buildings, day spas, restaurants, and music venues, Fredericksburg is also very close to the Enchanted Rock State Natural Area, the Lyndon B. Johnson National and State Parks, and is home to Admiral Nimitz National Museum of the Pacific War and the George H.W. Bush Gallery.
The Bed & Breakfast was Tillie's original home and was built in the early 1900's. It is a typical old German stone architecture with thick rock walls and a metal roof. A very rustic and charming guest house, it was renovated last year enhancing the comfort and ambiance while maintaining the uniqueness of its historical features. Special effort was made to restore the long leaf pine floors to their original beauty. There are two bedrooms: one with a queen size bed and one with two sets of bunk beds and an especially beautiful stone fireplace. The kitchen has a wood burning stove and is well stocked with snacks and beverages. The dining room and living room form a large great room with satellite TV and a full stereo system. The front porch is wonderful place to kick back and decompress while enjoying the scenery. When it is time to turn in for the evening, there is a full bath with tub and shower, fresh linens and plush bedding to insure a comfortable night's sleep.
